La serie Carmen San Diego tambien entretenia bastante en esa epoca
Despues habia miles de juegos de plataformas y de estrategia muy copados. Como los primeros Command & Conquers, Duke Nukem (los 2 primeros), etc.

Ufff, mi epoca era esa! la del xt! y a rebuscarsela para poder cargar un juego sin disco duro!!! Yo tenia At, andaba un poquito mas rapido que la xt y podia usar diskettes HD.
Los que recuerdo con mas cariño son las aventuras graficas pero habia mucha variedad.

Rise of the Triad, es otro de los grosos para PC DOS y un gran olvidado, dicen que es la secuela del Wolfenstein.

No vi en ningun lado eso de que sea la secuela del Wolfenstein, tampoco recuerdo que sea de la misma empresa, pero ojo, es suposición mía, capaz que si!

Lo recuerdo. Cuando era chico tenía un demo de ese juego, en el que podía jugar solo con un personaje. Recuerdo que me encantaba ese juego. Con menos de 10 años, juegos como Doom y Heretic me daban un cagaso tremendo. Y el ROTT no, me encantaba nunca lo jugué entero, tendré que hacerlo.

Back in the heyday of DOS prompts and floppy discs, one of the most popular games prowling around shareware sites and demo CDs was a mega-hit known as Doom. It took the gaming world by storm in 1993 with its amazing graphics, great gameplay and rocking soundtrack. The popularity of the game made other DOS developers take notice. Hoping to get their own piece of the action, they made their own "Doom clones" - what people called FPSes before that term was invented. Most of these weren't very good, but one company made a little-known gem that still plays well today. Apogee, the shareware giant, took the plans from a scrapped Wolfenstein 3D sequel and turned it into its own game - Rise of the Triad, affectionately referred to by its fans as "ROTT". The game pioneered several interesting ideas into the genre, including rocket jumping and enviromental destruction, but it never received the popularity of Doom. It does, however, have an over-the-top cheese factor that's somehow endearing, despite the incredulous violence.

Some sources claim that ROTT's engine is a heavily modified version of the Wolfenstein 3D engine, which would make sense, considering its roots. The game world is very angular and boxy, consisting mostly of tight hallways and huge open spaces, and the level designs are very, very basic compared to Doom. All of the characters are clearly digitized images of the development staff wearing Nazi-ish uniforms, robes and other rather silly outfits. The texturing is also horribly repetitive, and it's clear that it's not really on the technical level as some other games.

Mmm, digamos que es algo asi como una "secuela espiritual". Recuerdo en esos tiempos de los 4 megas de ram, ese fue uno de los primeros titulos que requerian 8 megas de ram! algo que por aquel entonces valia alrededor de los 200 a 300 dolares!

En esos tiempos los pibes de pc (entre el 96 y 98, ya con Win95 instalandose) estabamos alucinando con aventuras como Full Throttle, The Dig y Larry 7 o arcades como Quarantine..... o Rebel assault o command and conquer......... Sin mencionar las versiones mejoradas de titulos de psx como Metal gear solid o los Resident evil............. con una Diamond Monster Fusion...... Se veian años luz de las versiones de psx... sin mencionar que no existian los tiempos de carga!

Me resisti hasta lo ultimo con mi querido DOS, pero lamentablemente tuve que pasar al win 95...
