**If you thought retro gaming was quickly becoming an expensive hobby, it should come as no surprise that there are others out there willing to spend four figure sums on individual title. The latest title to hit astounding heights on eBay is a prototype copy of the long lost scrolling shooter Viewpoint 2064 for the Nintendo 64.

The arrival of this game is a somewhat breakthrough discovery for many, especially given that the only time the game made an appearance was during Nintendo Space World 1999. Despite flying off into the vast unknown, many were excited for the game’s arrival which promised some rather impressive shooting action in the Viewpoint series.

Fast forward to September 2015 and an oversized development cartridge containing the game managed to fetch a hefty $2,999 at auction with a single bid winning it. Since then we’re pleased to report that the new owner has uploaded footage of the game in action to YouTube, further showcasing what we’ve missed out on all these years. As it stands we’re yet to find out whether or not a ROM of this game will be added to various conservation efforts online, so until then be sure to take a glance at yet another missing Nintendo 64 title.
